Dr. Anri Nel
MBChB, FC Psych (SA), DMH
Dr. Anri Nel is the founder and principal practitioner at Pretoria Health, bringing a unique combination of general medical and psychiatric expertise to her patients. Her dual board certification makes her one of the few practitioners in Pretoria who can offer truly integrated physical and mental healthcare.
Born and raised in Pretoria, Dr. Nel completed her medical degree at the University of Pretoria before spending formative years in general practice. Recognising that many patients' physical complaints had psychological underpinnings, she pursued specialist training in psychiatry at the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.
After her fellowship at Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital, Dr. Nel founded Pretoria Health in 2014 with a clear mission: to create a practice where patients receive holistic, integrated healthcare without being referred between multiple providers.
She is passionate about destigmatising mental health in South Africa, fluent in English and Afrikaans, and outside the consulting room enjoys trail running and spending time with her family.
